On the way into work this morning, we ran into a courier robot by Starship Technologies. Here's the video

This morning we met a robot, politely waiting to cross the street. And we couldn't resist showing you the cute little guy. It's Friday. Lighten up.

The robot is a semi-autonomous drone manufactured by Starship Technologies. The Estonia-based tech company specialises in courier robots who can operate on their own. The Starship robot has a secure compartment that can only be opened by the designated deliveree.

The company was launched by Ahti Heinla and Janus Friis in 2014 in Talinn, Estonia. The company's business headquarters are in London and the robots are manufactured in Estonia.

What application there is for the film and TV market, we're not quite sure. If only London had these robot couriers in the 1990s. They would have been ideal for delivering cans of film, videotapes, writer's contracts and those mysterious unmarked packages that agents seemed to need before the big meeting.
