This year's HPA Tech Retreat UK will feature TR-X, a standalone day focused on VR, AR & MR, from the production workflow perspective

The Hollywood Production Association has announced that registration is open for the HPA Tech Retreat UK. The second gathering of the event, presented in association with SMPTE UK takes place 11-13 July in Oxfordshire, UK.

The HPA Tech Retreat UK, held again this year in the Heythrop Park resort near Oxford, features a high-level roster of engineering, technology, creative and business representives gathering to confer on media tech trends.

The Tech Retreat offers an opportunity to spend dedicated time to discuss the media business’ most pressing topics with indudyt colleagues. `'Part think tank, part conference, and extensively connective, the Tech Retreat creates an engaging and inspiring environment for attendees," says the HPA.

The event takes place over three days, inclusive of the new TR-X day, and includes conference sessions, daily breakfast roundtables with thought leaders, and the Innovation Zone exhibition space. In addition, the HPA Tech Retreat UK is introducing TR-X, a special, standalone day focused on VR, AR & MR, from the production workflow perspective. 

HPA has opened registration for the 2017 HPA Tech Retreat UK, presented in association with the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE®).  The Tech Retreat attracts a high-level roster of engineering, technology, creative and business leaders who gather to confer on the trends and technologies of the future, while tackling the issues of the present from fresh perspectives. The HPA Tech Retreat UK takes place 11 to 13 July, and is returning to the Heythrop Park resort in Oxfordshire.

The Tech Retreat offers a rare opportunity to spend dedicated time to discuss the media business’ most pressing topics with industry leading colleagues.  Part think tank, part conference, and extensively connective, the Tech Retreat creates an engaging and inspiring environment for attendees.  As the industry navigates changing media production workflows, the HPA Tech Retreat presents three days of questions, conversation and understanding to place attendees at the forefront of knowledge.

Richard Welsh, SMPTE VP of Education, returns as Chair of the 2017 Retreat.  Welsh noted, "Last year was a great launch, and we have even more amazing content planned for this year. As before, the subject matter will be uniquely balanced between cutting edge creative techniques and technical innovation. With the addition of Tech Retreat Extra (TR-X), the 2017 Tech Retreat UK will be something extremely special."
