What will be the technology trends at IBC this year?
We’ve seen a growing trend of more and more customers wanting to implement a multimedia distribution platform. We know enriching the audience experience is important for viewer retention and it’s starting to become an integral part of any broadcast workflow.
While the industry prepares for 4K, future IP adoption will be the enabler for its implementation. IP has been a core element of production workflows for file-based operations and its integration will make broadcast production easier to manage.
What is new from your company at IBC?
At IBC EVS will present multiple IP-based live production tools that unlock new possibilities for live events. Visitors will be presented with a series of live demos which show the live production possibilities offered by IP-based infrastructures including content contribution between venue and studio and remote production operations.
We’ll also be showing the new version of server software engine Multicam which allows for even more in-live capabilities such as two 6x SuperMotion camera ingest and output. We’ll also have the latest version of IPDirector, C-Cast and some brand new partner demos.
EVS’ IT-based DYVI switcher will also be on display showing how it maximises creative resources as the convergence of IT and broadcast infrastructures draws nearer.
What is your favourite bar/pub/restaurant in Amsterdam?
Every year I discover something new in Amsterdam – that’s what I enjoy about it. Some experiences I’ve previously enjoyed are Bazar and Los Pilones. This year I’m looking forward to the food at the REM Eiland.
What are your trade show survival tips?
Lots of water, good shoes and taking part in the 4K 4Charity Fun Run on Saturday morning.
