Ulrike Lauterbach of RTW sees IP as the big focus of IBC2017, with a focus on interoperability between different manufacturers.

Name: Ulrike Lauterbach

Company: RTW

Job Title: Director of sales and marketing

Number of IBCs you’ve attended: This is my thirteenth.

Flying, driving or train-ing to IBC this year?

Driving, as always, to IBC

What is your goal for this year’s IBC show?

Meeting new and existing dealers and distributors, as well as customers, and letting them know about our products.

What will be the big tech trends at this year’s IBC?

In my opinion, it is still IP, with a special focus on the interworkings between equipment from different manufacturers, especially in larger applications.

What gear/software/platform do you wish someone would make?

An adapter/converter tool that has as many function as a Swiss army knife - and the same size.

What’s your fondest IBC/Amsterdam memory?

Hard to say. But it’s always a pleasure to welcome all the people you work with at your stand and have a drink together -  many of them have become friends over the years and this makes working in the industry so enjoyable.

Can you speak Dutch?

Yes, I can. Not very well, but I attended Dutch lessons for two years while I was at university. Nederlands is een heel mooie taal.
