Flying, driving or train-ing to IBC this year?

Flying

What is your goal for this year’s IBC show?

To introduce our broadcast users to the new DPA d:vice - a really clever audio interface for iPhone, Mac and PC users that takes two inputs from any of our mics and converts them to digital signals. With one of these, quality audio follows the video content gathered on the go by journalists.

What will be the big tech trends at this year’s IBC?

The tendency to optimise workflows in the broadcast environment by use of automated systems, standardised formats and simplified content gathering tools, i.e. equipment focussing on getting more content out faster, smoother and wider.

What piece of gear/software/platform do you wish someone would make?

The all IP broadcast station in a box - ready to go.

What’s your fondest IBC/Amsterdam memory?

After a good dinner and a long night at Leidseplein, a colleague and I hired a rickshaw. After 1½ hours of sightseeing we negotiated the sweaty and exhausted driver’s price down by half. He wasn’t happy!

Can you speak Dutch?

No! However, I do get bits and pieces of it, as Dutch seems to include parts of the languages I do speak. This could also be due to the fact that I have visited Amsterdam round 50 times.
