Flying, driving or train-ing to IBC this year?
What is your goal for this year¹s IBC show?
Our goal is to engage with video users on the show floor and explain the importance of colour management. We believe that it¹s really important to educate videographers and filmmakers on how easy it is to ensure colour accuracy, set perfect exposure and sync all devices, including projectors, cameras, printers or monitors.
What will be the big tech trends at this year¹s IBC?
I think we will hear a lot of exhibitors talking about 4K's successor, 8K video. 2013 kicked off 8K resolution and the industry has been waiting patiently for the mainstream adoption of 8K. HDR is another hot topic as it is believed to be the next growth driver after 4K, so this year I think a lot of exhibitors will be showcasing HDR solutions to the masses.
USB-C has been readily accepted by PC manufacturers with more than 700 companies joining the USB Implementers Forum, so I¹m hoping to see a growth in USB-C compatible hardware at the show.
What gear/software/platform do you wish someone would make?
Tiny video drones :)
What¹s your fondest IBC/Amsterdam memory?
My fondest IBC memory was the joint Atomos and X-Rite presentations on their speaker stand in 2016. At X-Rite, we are very proud of our partnership with Atomos and we work very closely with them to deliver high end professional colour calibration to their range of Atomos monitor-recorders.
