The TVU One mobile uplink solution will be used for national and local newscast production

Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), Malaysia's first public broadcaster, has purchased the TVU One cellular uplink solution by TVU Networks. The IP video transmission solution will be deployed to 17 locations, including RTM's headquarters and local stations to enhance its nationwide news coverage.

The Kuala Lumpur-based RTM owns 36 radio and three television stations in Malaysia, and has been broadcasting for 70 years. The broadcaster had been leasing TVU Networks’ TVUPack TM8100 live video mobile uplink solution, and will be making the upgrade to the TVU One after field evaluations with other industry manufacturers.

The TVU One weighs 2.2 pounds and offers the benefits of a lightweight, IP-based high-definition video field transmitter. TVU Networks' IP transmission solutions are used by organisations around the world for distributing video to broadcast, online and mobile platforms.

TVU Networks solutions have been used to deliver HD footage to such mega-events as the World Cup, both Summer and Winter Olympic Games, the U.S. presidential elections, natural disasters, the 2013 Papal conclave and the Super Bowl.

“We are honoured to be the live video transmission equipment provider of choice for RTM,” said Paul Shen, CEO of TVU Networks. “Offering worry-free operation, TVU One is a compact yet feature rich solution that’s ideal for news broadcasters like RTM. With TVU One, RTM can efficiently deliver live, high-quality breaking news with sub-second latency to its viewers.”
