Canada's ComwaveTV selects Abox42 STB's

The new IPTV service will us Abox42's M30-Series Smart set-top boxes

Comwave, Canada’s largest independent communications company, will be using the Abox42 M30-Series smart set-top box platform for its newly launched ComwaveTV service.

Comwave provdes internet and VoIP telephony services in Canada and the US. ComwaveTV will offer an IPTV service with live TV, on demand, catch-up and network PVR functionality. The service is delivered to customers via the Abox42 M30-Series Smart STB, which is based on a dual core ARM processor which includes support for H.265/HEVC. The deployment uses the Abox42 software stack to provide total lifecycle management and is integrated with middleware from Singularity for OTT service delivery.

The Abox42 SmartSDK supports an HTML5 browser-based user interface compatible with major streaming formats for IPTV and OTT.
