TeraVolt and 3 Screen Solutions provided user interface, apps and backend integration for pan-European entertainment platform Bobbles.tv
Bobbles.tv, a new pan-European video entertainment platform recently launched via DTH satellite broadcasting and OTT, has selected TeraVolt and 3 Screen Solutions (3SS) to develop and integrate its apps and management systems.
TeraVolt specialises in strategy and design of next-generation TV products. 3 Screen Solutions is a provider of customised software solutions and services to the multiscreen digital entertainment industry.
Hamburg-based Bobbles.tv can be received throughout Europe via satellite and online and aims to reach a potential audience of around 14 million people originating from Asia, Latin America and Africa but currently living and working in Europe. The company went live initially with programming offers for Chinese, Indonesian, Indian and Korean communities.
Commissioned by MX1, media services subsidiary of global satellite company SES, TeraVolt provided Bobbles’ design, including a user front end navigation interface for subscribers, on a range of devices and the platform’s linear channels and libraries.
Other features which TeraVolt and 3SS innovations made possible include linear TV and catch-up TV, search and backwards EPG. Subscribers can also set up a personal watchlist and can share and recommend programming to others using social media, and they can sign up for bobbles newsletters.
Central to the deployment was the integration of a mediation layer in form of an application server linking the online video platform’s back end systems with the front end and new apps in a seamless, unified and operationally efficient way.
