The Dolby theatre at Yellowmoon has refurbished with Avid gear

Northern Ireland post house Yellowmoon has refurbished its main Dolby theatre with new audio equipment from Avid. The equipment and installation was provided by media tech integrator Tyrell.

The refurbished audio suite has been equipped with an Avid Pro Tools | S6 control surface and Pro Tools 12.5 software. The equipment was first used for post-production on the latest series of BBC Two's The Fall, produced by Artists Studio. Yellow Moon's other recent credits include Disney’s The Lodge, Game of Thronesl, Line of Duty, and The Secret.

Yellowmoon's brief was to create a visceral, real-world soundtrack for Alan Cubbitt’s characters to inhabit, whilst blending in David Holmes’ unique score. The 5.1 sound was mixed by Paul Maynes and picture post was also completed at Yellowmoon using Da Vinci Resolve and Avid DS.

Greg Darby, MD of Yellowmoon said: “As a leading facility producing innovative and creative post-production for major international broadcasters, Yellowmoon has to heavily invest in the latest technology to maintain its edge over the competition. Our investment in the new audio suite had to be of the highest quality so we picked the best technology from Avid with Tyrell’s outstanding support.”
