The new mount features XLR mic preamp and built-in wireless support

IK Multimedia has introduced iKlip A/V, a broadcast mount for pro audio and video recording with smartphones.

The system joins IK Multimedia's existing range of IK camera support products and offers broadcasters and videographers the ability to capture and monitor quality audio on the go. The grip features an integrated XLR mic preamp with phantom power and built-in wireless receiver support in a smartphone holder mount with hand-held grip. Aimed at mobile broadcast professionals, the flexible mini-rig allows users to employ their smartphone as a camcorder.

The iKlip A/V was developed in Italy with input from professional field reporters and broadcasters as a cost effective alternative for field reporting. The unit features an integrated microphone preamp with phantom power that lets users record with high-quality external microphones via an XLR input and provides 48V phantom power for high-end condenser mics via two AA batteries. It also features a built-in support that can hold most popular wireless microphone receivers with gain control, headphone monitoring output and 1/8" TRRS audio output.

iKlip A/V's ergonomic handheld grip and expandable smartphone holding bracket shares technology with IK's iKlip Xpand Mini. The unit can hold any iPhone, iPod touch or Android device with a screen size from 3.5" to 6". The grip can also be attached to a monopod or tripod via standard female threads on the underside. Its holder can be detached and replaced with a compact video camera thanks to its standard camera mount.

iKlip A/V works with any smartphone or camera that accepts a 1/8" TRRS (CTIA/AHJ wiring standard) audio input, which allows it to deliver broadcast-quality results with any device that can fit on its grip or fit on iKlip A/V's standard thread tripod/camera mount. iKlip A/V is also compatible with many popular mobile video recording apps, including Apple's Camera app and third party apps like Filmic Pro.

iKlip A/V will be available in April 2016 from music and electronics retailers worldwide, and from the IK online store, for only $/€179.99 (excluding taxes).iKlip AV schematic
