IBC Musings: Kees Frijters, Rosco
Kees Frijters, Rosco's president of EMEA, sees more large steps toward sustainability at this year's IBC.
Name: Kees Frijters
Job Title: President EMEA
Number of IBCs you’ve attended: Since the first one in Amsterdam in 1992, I don’t think I’ve missed one (so this will be my 25th!!)
Flying, driving or train-ing to IBC this year?
What is your goal for this year’s IBC show?
Without a doubt: “To create something brilliant together with colleagues, customers and other members of our dynamic industry”
What will be the big tech trends at this year’s IBC?
More large steps towards sustainability. IBC has always recognised the importance of a separate hall for “the lighting”. Whilst lighting may not be the sexiest part of the broadcast process, it is still a building block that cannot be overlooked. In fact, no lighting would mean no broadcast and...no IBC. Brilliant things are on the horizon in the lighting world - all to be revealed at IBC2017
What gear/software/platform do you wish someone would make?
Further Integration of “control” throughout the entire broadcast process. From early production throughout editing and the final broadcast
What’s your fondest IBC/Amsterdam memory?
The happy faces on IBC-Sunday. Rain or shine, 55,000 visitors feeling great and happy after days of energy at IBC- with some “Amsterdam-relaxation” included. IBC is such a successful combination of work, great facilities and a little pleasure.
Can you speak Dutch?
