AJA announces new block camera and control software

RovoCam and its RovoControl software are aimed at industrial, corporate, security, ProAV and broadcast

Among the products announced by AJA at NAB was its RovoCam UHD/HD camera for industrial, corporate, security, ProAV and broadcast. RovoCam is a block camera with an integrated HDBaseT interface that supports uncompressed video, power, stereo audio and RS-232 control over a single CAT 5e/6 cable at lengths of up to 100 meters.

RovoCam includes a built-in 12x optical zoom lens, and up to 20x zoom with Sony Super Resolution Zoom. The camera also features on-camera power and RS-232 connections. In addition, the RovoCam supports Sony VISCA camera control and features stereo mic input that supports PiP power. The camera comes with a machined aluminium case with standard mounting options, and is compatible with Sony’s SNCUNIHB/1 outdoor housing.

AJA also released RovoControl, a free application for controlling one or multiple RovoCams. with virtual PTZ control for HD workflows.

Other RovoCam features include zoom, focus and iris control, electronic PTZ to move a 1080p box around an UltraHD frame for Region of Interest (ROI) Pan, Tilt, and Zoom extraction, and the ability to change resolution dynamically between UltraHD and HD options. Future RovoControl updates will continue to add additional features.
